Score 88/100 · Drink 2003-2007, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2003

A blend of fruit from 9 different parcels, the 2001 Puligny-Montrachet exhibits aromas reminiscent of sweetened lemonade and white flowers. Light to medium-bodied, it is a plush, focused, silky-textured wine with toasty mineral flavors. This extroverted offering should be drunk over the next 4 years. (an assemblage of barrels, with a bit more new oak than the ultimate blend will feature) Oily aromas of peach and apricot. More fruit and spices than flowers in the mouth. Offers good texture and decent cut, with enough acidity to shape the fat fruit. Slightly musky on the end.
