This wine may turn out to be outstanding. It offers a dark plum color, and high quality aromatics consisting of pain grille, lead pencil, smoke, and black cherry and currant fruit. In the mouth, this is a sweet, medium-bodied, round, spicy, succulently-textured Bon Pasteur with a plump, fleshy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2012.
Beautiful aromas of flowers, plum and licorice follow through to a full-bodied palate, with chewy tannins and a long finish. Turns a little austere.--'95/'96 Bordeaux retrospective. Drink now. 3,500 cases made. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 2007

About the producer

Famed winemaking consultant Michel Rolland is synonymous with this estate. The vines here were purchased by his grandparents and he ran the property from 1979. Although Rolland still makes the wine today, he sold the estate in 2013.
