Mainly barrel fermented, albeit in old barrels. Still, this imposes something very unclassic on the wine. Here's a Grand Cru Chablis being put through a fashionable hoop to make a wine in which sweet ripeness dominates the acidity and the emphasis seems to have been on making it palatable young rather than true to its origins (I know I must sound the most terrible reactionary). Good fruit though. (JR)

Tangy, slightly exotic aromas of tangelo and honey. Supple and rich, with a restrained sweetness; stone fruit and ripe pear flavors are nicely complemented by subtle oak notes of spice, toast and vanilla. Nicely expansive and persistent on the back.
