Score 92/100 · Robert Parker, Dec 1993
(Magnum) After musty, stale walnut-like aromas blew off, this wine revealed sweet, chocolatey, minty, mushroomy, blackcurrant fruit. The predominately amber/rust color displayed little ruby. With copious quantities of chewy, black-cherry fruit, medium to full body, excellent depth and ripeness, fine overall balance, and no noticeable tannin in the long, alcoholic finish, this is another example of how well Calon-Segur can last.

Calon Segur
Wedding gift lists traditionally include wine glasses or cutlery, but in 1718, Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségur, the owner of Château Lafite and Château Latour and president of the Bordeaux parliament, received a rather more impressive present: Château Calon.
