Score 86/100 · Drink 1994-1995, Robert Parker, Jan 1990
Go after the rich, sweet, ripe, fat, heady, and perfumed Bonnes Mares. This wine is very aromatic and loaded with fruit. It is an absolute joy to drink. Groffier used 100% new oak in 1986 for his top wines and did a serious saigner, a bleeding out of the excess juice. The excess was sold to several negociants in Beaune! While this wine will require drinking by 1994-1995, I doubt that anyone will complain.
