Bright ruby-red. Aromas of small, wild red berries, mocha and brown spices, with complicating menthol, mineral and roasted elements. Lush and ripe but not overly sweet; notes of black licorice and herbs contribute to an impression of austerity. Plenty of density and structure here. A rather suave Bonnes-Mares from the Chambolle side of this grand cru. Finishes with big but even tannins.
