Score 91/100 · Drink 2005-2012, Pierre Rovani, Apr 2003

Domaine Marc Morey is known among Burgundy aficionados for its Chassagne-Montrachet Virondots. In 2001 it is unquestionably outstanding, yet both the Vergers and Caillerets surpass it. Flowers and minerals make up this light to medium-bodied wine's aromatic profile, and its personality has outstanding flesh, depth, and concentration. It reveals fresh minerals and crisp pears. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2012. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083

Very cool, 'wet stone' aromas. More restrained, though more mass and obvious sweetness than Les Vergers. May eventually be a better wine. (JR)

Complex, deeply minty aromas of lime and minerals. Dense, minerally and strong; offers an exciting combination of thickness and nervosite Strong acids intensify and extend the wine lively flavors. Offers excellent balance and grip, and considerable finesse.
