Very deep, thick crimson. Really quite sumptuous on the nose. Lovely opulence and weight on the palate. Well done! Neat tannins on the finish. This tasting confirms my initial enthusiasm for this wine en primeur, somewhat dented by an uninspiring sample tasted last November. (JR)
This long forgotten classified growth (owned by the Dourthe firm) has fashioned an elegant, medium-bodied 2001 exhibiting sweet and black currant fruit along with toasty new oak and mineral notes. The sweet attack narrows in the mouth. Drink it over the next 7-10 years.
