Score 87-90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2012
(this and all of the following wines are negociant offerings under the Maison Roche de Bellene label): Saturated bright red. Brooding aromas of black cherry and licorice. Juicy and pure but tight, with firm acidity keeping the black fruit and spice flavors under wraps today; this is clearly less evolved than Potel's domain wines. Finishes firmly tannic, saline and persistent.

About the producer

Maison Roche de Bellene
Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
