Magnificent library release. Superb density and intensity with sliced apple, mango and flan, as well as pie crust. Full body with very fine bubbles that make the wine feel like silk in your mouth. The finish is endless and so satisfying. So concentrated, yet agile and rather weightless. Disgorged in 2010. Love it. Drink now.

The 2000 Blanc de Blancs Cuvée de Réserve Vinothèque is a potent wine that has arrived at an expressive plateau of maturity. Lemon confit, chamomile, dried flowers, butter and pear build effortlessly in the glass. All of this fruit is from Grand Cru villages in the Côtes des Blancs. This is a generous, ample style with broad shoulders and plenty of depth.

Pol Roger's 2000 Brut Blanc de Blancs is a pretty wine graced with warm, toasty notes, butter, apricots and hazelnuts, all of which come together in a rich, broad-shouldered style that is very appealing. Layers of Chardonnay fruit emerge from the glass in this deep, complex Champagne. The generous finish makes it hard to resist a second taste. The 2000 shows plenty of nuance today, but it should drink well for a number of years.

(L11961839F): Light, bright yellow. High-pitched aromas of musky orchard fruits, orange pith and ginger. Dense and fine-grained, with very good depth and energy to its bitter orange, pear and chamomile flavors. Shows impressive clarity and intensity on the long, sappy, gently leesy finish. This Champagne seems to be evolving slowly.
