Deep crimson. A bit of spice on the nose. Quite ripe nose, though the acidity insists on the palate. Mid-weight. Quite creditable. Very slightly green tannins. (JR)
Blackish crimson. Sample very slightly oxidised. No charm at all. Very brutal with lots of green tannins. To give this wine the benefit of the doubt, perhaps it's just still very young and too young to give any sort of pleasure? Or perhaps this was a faulty sample? (JR)
Pretty wine with blackberry and cherry aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, with good fruit and a medium finish. Slightly hollow on the midpalate, but very good. Best after 2007.-James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2005

If there’s one Moulis estate you know, it is likely Chasse-Spleen, today owned by the Foubet family. Vines have been planted here since the 16th century, and today it has an impressive 100 hectares to its name.
