Score 89/100 · Drink 2013-2023, Robert Parker, Feb 2013

The more limited cuvee – and it’s very special – is the 2010 Cuvee George, which is a somewhat idiosyncratic blend of 45% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot. It displays terrific floral notes intermixed with blackberry, licorice, and a hint of incense. Dense purple, it possesses soft, silky tannins and a luscious, sumptuous mouthfeel and finish. This wine is terrific, but will obviously be very difficult to find. It also came in at 14.5% natural alcohol. Drink it over the next 6-10 years.

Very dark – much darker than the regular cuvée. Scent of exotic cereals – the best bit of this wine! Sweet start, very concentrated. Chewy. Awfully hard work. As though concentrated and forced through a sieve. Very dry finish. (JR)
