Smudgy red. Relatively pale. Firm nose – the opposite of showy. Relatively lightweight, but very classic. Not being forced into a “ripe” mould that is then belied by vintage character. Straightforward (old-fashioned) Médoc. Fresh. Dry finish. (JR)

Very deep purplish crimson with colour right out to rim. Some slightly green notes on the nose but an impressively ripe palate attack. Lots of tannins insist and make the wine quite a candidate for ageing. Pretty impressive. Slightly furry finish. (JR)
