Extremely deep crimson, deep flavour that is, believe it or not, quite prune-like. Mouth-filling start followed by surprisingly pinched fruit with tannins much in evidence on the back of the palate. (JR)

This complex Barbaresco offers aromas of cherry jam, spice box, tobacco, and leather. Full medium red. High-pitched, fruit-driven aroma complicated by a woodsy sweetness. Suave and fairly dense, with firm acidity and good delineation for the vintage. The tannins reach the front teeth. Still quite youthful. From 40-to-45-year-old vines planted on Treiso border with Barbaresco.
