Big and round and a bit blowsy on the nose and then rather uncomfortably sweet on the palate. Tastes too confected. (JR)

(a 50/50 blend of cabernet and merlot) Moderately saturated ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of blackberry, menthol and licorice. Then sweet and creamy in the middle, with cherry/berry flavors nicely firmed by lively acids. Finishes with broad tannins and very good length. A good showing.

B: Low key nose but with a definite attempt at opulence. It fails alas. Just a bit diluted with rather weak, green tannins on the finish. Astringent. (JR)
