Sweet and broad on the nose. Then minerally on the palate. A really nice combo! Still youthful but very promising and long. Really exciting. I may be under-scoring it. (JR)

Tasted 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 . Coffee, chocolate, stunningly pure beautiful fruit under a velvet dark cape of tannins. Smoky thyme, sage and game and silk. As sleek as a racehorse. Rippling with muscle and tightly reined-in power. This is magnificent. Almost overwhelmingly so. It strides above you: the Colossus of the wine world? (TC)

A layered and intense red with superb depth and fruit. Full body, wonderful depth and texture with a plush velvety mouthfeel. Flavorful finish.

98% Shiraz, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Magill, Adelaide Hills. 19 months in new American oak hogsheads. Dense, medicinal aromatic quality on the nose, and absolutely far too young to drink now. Highly strung tannic grip. The fruit is stupendously pure, but there is precious little development yet. No doubt that this is a superb Grange in waiting. Tremendous. (RH)
