Tasting notes
The 2007 Lamothe Guignard has a straightforward nose with dried honey, marmalade, beeswax and soft quince aromas. The palate is well balanced with tangy marmalade and peach on the entry, lightly spiced with a bit of dryness creeping in towards the finish. Fully mature, but a respectable Sauternes. Tasted at the 2007 horizontal in Sauternes.

Tasted single blind against its peers. The Lamothe-Guignard 2007 has a rich grapefruit and honey-tinged, honeysuckle and hazelnut nose with touches of orange cordial, although it does not quite have the precision of its peers. The palate is unctuous on the entry with fine vigor. It comes across a little earthy compared to others but has very good weight on its unctuous, waxy finish. Tasted January 2011.
Mid orange gold. Tingle and depth. Barley sugar and sweetness above all with, again, something very aromatic about it. Strepsils throat pastilles! (JR)
