Tasting notes
The first year she has had these vines back from Dom Gros Frère et Soeur, where they were en fermage for 25 years. Really quite pale. Lovely juicy fruit and fruity and very slightly jammy. A bit chewy on the finish perhaps because of the new oak? Not quite comfortable yet but the fruit is certainly very flattering even if not for purists. (JR)

Noticeable but not dominant new wood aromas highlight ripe, spicy and impressively complex aromas that combine notes of dark berries, violets, earth and a hint of smoke that introduce extremely rich and solidly concentrated flavors that also possess a lovely mouth feel and a textured, sappy and mouth coating finish. A fine example of the vineyard with a subtle hint of backend minerality. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Apr01,2009
