(from Combe d'Orveau): Captivating aromas of blackberry, licorice and bitter chocolate complemented by an exotic liqueur-like quality and perked up by a peppery nuance. Dense and fine-grained, but with excellent definition thanks to strong acidity and good peppery cut. Vibrant cranberry and loganberry flavors emerge as the wine opens in the glass. Finishes vibrant and impressively long, with suave tannins and firm acid spine. "From a cool location in a cold vintage," says Prost.
