Tasting notes
Bright medium red. Sappy, deep aromas of red fruits, spices, flowers and nutty oak. Juicy, spicy and pure, with vibrant, sharply delineated flavors of strawberry, raspberry and spices. Very classy Echezeaux, finishing firmly tannic, long and aromatic.

Quite spicy with an interesting smoked meat quality underlying the fresh black fruit aromas that are framed by a touch of toasty oak. The medium full flavors are rich, round and generous with plenty of richness and personality and fine length. A very fine if not genuinely great example. Allen Meadows, Burghound 01/04/2003
Displaying a nose of jammy cherries, the medium-bodied 2001 Echezeaux expands on the palate to reveal baked strawberry and cherry flavors. This structured wine has excellent density of fruit as well as a long, expressive finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Pierre Rovani, Wine Advocate # 147 Jun 2003

About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
