Exquisite bouquet of apple, honey baked lemon and beeswax. The palate shows lovely soft, round texture with fine acidity and concentrated but controlled richness. Bright lemon, pastry and jasmine soar from the glass as Remoissenet's 2011 Corton-Charlemagne shows off its considerable personality. There is an understated, weightless quality to the 2011 that is hugely appealing. An ethereal, gracious finish rounds things out nicely, but there is nevertheless plenty of underlying structure in this deceptively medium-bodied Corton Charlemagne.
