Score 90/100 · Drink 2004-2014, Robert Parker, Jun 2004

Just a step behind the brilliant 2000, this dense ruby/purple-colored, modern-styled St.-Emilion reveals surprising complexity given its nose of new saddle leather, cedar, black currants, and sweet, ripe, jammy cherries. With medium-bodied, loads of fruit, and a supple-textured, elegant, fleshy personality, it will drink well for a decade.

Deep saturated ruby to the rim. Very dark, fruit-driven aromas of cassis, black cherry and violet. Quite suave on entry, then densely packed but rather tight, with a firm underlying backbone giving the flavors good verve. Slightly drying tannins reach the teeth.
