Tasting notes
Potentially the finest Bourgogne Cuvee Oligocene Cuvee Speciale Javillier has produced to date, the 2002 is superb. White flowers are intermingled with apricots, white peaches, and yellow plums in its expressive aromas. Medium-bodied, dense, and fleshy, this chewy, oily-textured wine coats the taster’s palate with syrupy minerals and spices whose effects linger in its impressively long finish. Drink this fabulous Bourgogne over the next 3-4 years. Importers: David Shiverick, Langdon Shiverick, Cleveland, OH; tel. (216) 861-6800, Wines Ltd, Hanover, MD; tel. Cask sample . Light. Quite delicate. Great texture and lift, with much more minerality than most Bourgogne Blanc. Still chewy finish. (JR)
