Tasting notes
With deep, dark ruby/purple color, plenty of body, as well as mouth-searing tannins in the finish, the 1986 Siran competently displays the personality characteristics of the vintage. Between the fragrant, tarry, spicy, curranty bouquet and the hard finish is plenty of depth and fruit. However, one must defer gratification for at least 7-8 years before drinking the 1986 Siran. Anticipated maturity: Now-2010. Last tasted, 11/90.

About the producer

In the south of Margaux, this property has 36 hectares of vines. There’s an unusually large proportion of Petit Verdot (13%) in the vineyard, something which the team feels adds finesse, concentration and a spicy finish to the wine.
