Score 16/20 · Drink 2010-2026, James Lawther MW, jancisrobinson.com, Jun 2023
56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 8% Cabernet Franc. 57 hl/ha. Harvested 24 September to 16 October. Similar colour to the 2000, if a little muddier. Mature sous-bois notes, more emphatically so than the 2000. Round on attack then more angular on the finish. Slightly drying tannins. (JL)

This hard, tannic, burly, medium-bodied St.-Estephe lacks charm and fruit. Even if it fleshes out, it will be difficult for this wine to achieve a score of 85 or above.
