The 2005 Château Dalem is firm, angular, and drying out.

Another sleeper of the vintage, this wine has a saturated ruby/purple color and an attractive mineral note interwoven with mulberries, plums and black cherries. Medium-bodied, it still has some tannin to resolve, but the fruit is pleasant and the wine fleshy, pure and well-made. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.

Deep crimson. Quite gamey and bloody on the nose. Rather strangely animal sweetness and a bit furry on the finish. Fine but not the purest Fronsac 2005… (JR)
