Score 85-87/100 · Drink 1998-2005, Robert Parker, Feb 1998
Impressive for a wine in this price category, this deep ruby-colored St.-Emilion reveals a tobacco-tinged, black cherry-scented nose, and spicy, medium-bodied flavors with excellent purity and ripeness. Forward and soft for a 1996, without much structure or tannin, I would opt for drinking it over the next 5-7 years. This is a very good value.
