Score 87/100 · Drink 2013-2014, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2011
The 2009 Auxey-Duresses is an excellent choice for near and mid-term drinking. Sweet herbs, cherries and flowers emerge from this graceful, mid-weight vinous red. The Auxey-Duresses was bottled in December, 2010. Leroux harvests these parcels on the late side, gives the wine one year in oak, and bottles shortly thereafter with the goal of preserving as much fruit and freshness as possible.

Very positive and rich and focussed. Lots of concentration. It would be difficult to guess the appellation blind, I suspect. Very serious and beautifully balanced. Maybe not very very long but lovely. GV (JR)
