Tasting notes
Extremely fragrant, supple, expansive, and elegant, this fully mature 1985 has a dark garnet color with plenty of pink and amber at the edge. Fleshy, medium-bodied, and smooth as silk, this wine has excellent balance, loads of fruit, and a low acid, lush finish. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 6/02.

The 1985 Talbot has a delectable bouquet with well-defined red berry fruit, mocha, tea leaves and bay leaf. This is Saint-Julien through and through. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, red berry fruit, Christmas cake and a dash of white pepper. With gentle grip and a persistent finish that lingers in the mouth, this very cohesive and harmonious 1985 comes highly recommended. Tasted at the château with Jean-Marc Laporte.
About the producer
