Tasting notes
The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin is rich, deep and powerful. Black cherries, hard candy, plums, violets and licorice are some of the many notes that flesh out in the glass as the Gevrey shows off its flashy, exotic personality. Layers of fruit build to the effortless, radiant finish. This is a very representative 2009.

Deep red-ruby. Liqueur-like aromas of black cherry and licorice, with a suggestion of cough medicine. Very sweet, fat and seamless, with a distinctly jammy quality to the large-scaled but rather monolithic dark fruit flavors. Finishes with slightly drying tannins. (Incidentally, Dugat's unusually rich 2009 Bourgogne is an impressive fruit bomb that has retained greater freshness than the more porty Gevrey villages .)
The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin is sweet, powerful and inviting. Hints of smoke and licorice develop in the glass, adding complexity to the dark, sensual fruit. This is another gorgeous wine in its category.
