Good red-ruby. Red cherry and darker fruits on the nose, with notes of game and minerals. Offers an enticing sweetness but shows a slight toughness in the middle. More tannic and less supple today than the Chambolle.

The Hubert Lignier 2005 Gevrey-Chambertin offers a big bowl of fresh, ripe-yet-tart cherries to the nose and palate. Simple but juicy and persistent, I would elect to enjoy this in the near term despite its slight roughness of tannin. Apr 2007, www.robertparker.com
