Very good ruby-red color. Nuanced nose combines cassis, blackberry, violet, bitter chocolate and underbrush. Sweet, dense and supple, with firm acidity giving lift to the berry and chocolate flavors. Nicely concentrated, fresh and solid, finishing with substantial dusty tannins and very good length. Seems much more successful than the 2002 version.

Bright red-ruby. Aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant and bitter chocolate, lifted by a floral nuance. Sweeter and fatter on entry than the foregoing samples, then broader in the middle palate, with a deep black cherry flavor. Finishes with very good breadth and length, and big but even, horizontal tannins. This cuvee seems a bit more pliant in 2001 than in the preceding couple of vintages.
