A big, concentrated Pomerol. Impressive aromas of green tobacco, fresh and dried cherries and sweet fruit, with a hint of tar. Full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a long, velvety, tobacco aftertaste. Best after 2000. 5,000 cases made. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 1998

Very good medium red-ruby. Vanilla, chocolate, new oak and a minty note on the nose. Dense, smooth and sweet, but quite youthful. Has good grip, even tannins and spicy finishing flavor. Not yet complex but harmonious and rich. Definitely an estate on the upswing.

Named after its founder, Bernard Beauregard, this property is one of few Pomerol addresses to have an actual château – here a stately 18th-century construction designed by the man behind Bordeaux’s Grand Théâtre.
