Good saturated deep red. Highly aromatic nose combines red fruits, spices and minerals; perfumed and high-toned. Rich, lush, broad and sweet but with harmonious balancing acids keeping it firm and youthful. Boasts a silky texture and the best volume and persistence of these '04s. Tannins are sweet. A terrific showing today, but give this five years of aging.

Reticent nose hints at licorice. Quite dense and complex in the mouth, combining flavors of raspberry, leather, game, pepper, mocha and earthy underbrush. As usual, this cuvee delivers the best combination of density, purity and nuance in the cellar. Finishes long and complex, with the material to buffer its firm tannins.
