Score 89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jul 2010
Bright red-ruby. Inky dark berries and a whiff of meat on the nose. Supple and broad on the palate, with harmonious acidity framing and lifting the smoky red fruit flavors. Offers good energy and persistence and finishes with firm but fine tannins and classic dryness. An outperformer for its appellation.

Black! 39% old vine Petit Verdot and it shows. Very toasty nose. 80% new oak and it shows. Modern and oaky but there’s some very nice ripe blueberry fruit underneath, though this is more evident at the front than in the length. (JH)
