Score 88/100 · Drink 2009-2014, Robert Parker, Feb 2009
A sleeper of the vintage as well as a bargain-priced low level Bordeaux, this intriguing blend of 39% Merlot, 37% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep ruby/purple-colored effort displaying notes of asphalt, graphite, charcoal, blueberries, and black currants. Medium-bodied with surprising depth for a wine of this class, and plenty of character as well as personality, it can be enjoyed now and over the next 4-5 years.

Ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of blackberry, violet and spice. Ripe, chewy and rich if not yet particularly complex. A bit aggressive with alcohol and distinctly tannic, but there's excellent fruit intensity here.
