Fine and smooth and rather artful. The sheer weight of ripe fruit should make this drinkable quite early. Although it is also refreshing, almost lean in fact. (JR)

The 2009 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is ripe and opulent on the nose, maybe a bit smudged compared to the 2010, with a touch more VA than one would expect. The palate is medium-bodied with lush tannins, touches of orange rind and kirsch, all tied together by a keen line of acidity. Just a dash of white pepper builds on the finish. This is a wonderful Latricières, though the '10 has the edge. Tasted at the Latricières vertical at La Cabotte, London.
