The 2009 Monbrison is quite savory on the nose with touches of dried blood infusing the loamy red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with quite sharp acidity on the entry, but there is decent fruit here with cedar and tobacco towards the finish. Probably best drunk now and over the next 4 to 5 years. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.

Very ripe and broad. Fresh attack. The acidity is a tad prominent. Hard finish. But there is some core of fruit here. (JR)
