Tasting notes
Still remarkably youthful looking, and slow to evolve, this is a powerful, concentrated, and rich Sauternes, with decades of life ahead of it. Lemon, tropical fruit, and vanillin oaky aromas titillate the olfactory glands. Tight, yet rich, full-bodied flavors reveal marvelous balance and richness. It is aging at a snail's pace. Anticipated maturity: Now-2025. Last tasted, 12/90.

The 1975 Rieussec has a lucid golden hue. Apricot and persimmon scents give way to hints of chlorine and beeswax with time in the glass, though to be truthful, it does not possess amazing complexity. The palate is fresh and tangy with good weight, marmalade and quince notes and just a touch of dryness that creeps in towards the finish. Drink soon. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux.
