Score 76/100 · Drink 2018-2020, Neal Martin, Mar 2018
The 1973 Ausone has a light tea leaf and leathery bouquet, clearly showing signs of dilution. The palate is vegetal and seems heavily chaptalized to the point where in fact, it is not undrinkable, just rather bland. Tasted at the Ausone vertical in London.
