Pale and evolved-looking. Light, but pure and very charming for early drinking. Just a bit of a spine of structure. And some definite tannin on the end. Energy here, though a little bitter on the finish. [ Geosmin . Most others hated this.] (JR)

Pale-medium red. Raspberry and cherry aromas are lifted by ineffable rose petal, minerals and crushed stone. Densely packed, rich and sweet, conveying a sense of brooding power but still a bit angular today. The wine's high-pitched notes of rose petal, blood orange and minerals and noteworthy persistence suggest that my current rating will prove conservative.
Medium red. Aromatic nose offers cherry, red berries, licorice and mint. Pure, precise and penetrating, with high-pitched, fruit-driven flavors of red berries, spices and minerals. Not at all an animal style of Combe aux Moines. Finishes with noteworthy subtlety and sweet tannins.

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important wine producers. The family-owned estate, now in the hands of the seventh generation, is one of the largest in the region, with significant holdings in both the Côte d’Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
