Mid straw. Oaky note. Very substantial and very sweet. Too sweet for comfort really. The opposite of an aperitif wine! But substantial and it does have a beginning, middle and end. (JR)

The dry white wine from the staff at Mouton Rothschild is generally a blend of two-thirds Sauvignon Blanc and the rest Semillon, with usually one percent or so of Muscadelle added in the blend. This is an increasingly intriguing wine, and the 2006 exhibits plenty of honeysuckle, orange skin, and fig-like notes, with crisp, zesty acidity and a medium-bodied, fresh finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
