Tasting notes
Deep red with ruby highlights. Highly complex, aromatic nose of raspberry, cherry, minerals, smoke and rose petal. Then concentrated, fine-grained and precise, with an old-viney sweetness and superb inner-mouth lift. The strong stony quality contributes to the impression of structure. Finishes firmly tannic and very long. A superb young Marsannay that needs five or six years of additional cellaring and should age very well.

(Joseph Roty; from very old vines planted on calcaire; like Roty's Charmes, this parcel yields tiny grapes) Medium ruby-red. Wild, musky red berries, roast coffee, smoked meat and crushed stone on the complex nose. Dense, sappy and vibrant, with black fruit, spice and licorice flavors. Sweetness perfectly supported by firm tannic spine. Finishes very long and juicy. Outstanding Marsannay in the making.
