Tasting notes
Lacklustre mid ruby. An impressive nose of lifted cherry, fruitcake and chalk. Lots of depth. Perfumed and multilayered and already amazingly appealing with crunchy tannin and just the right amount of acidity. Hedonistic, with a muscular structure. (WS)

Barolo. Mid crimson. Spice and fine, sweet dried fruits. Lots of powerful grainy tannin framing a sweet cherry palate lifted by acidity. Quite complete, but the parts still need to integrate. Very long. (WS)
The 2008 Barolo Cannubi sweeps across the palate with layers of dark red fruit, flowers, subtle French oak, mint, licorice and spices. This is an especially pliant, generous 2008 laced with expressive fruit and fabulous overall balance. The south-facing Cannubi yields a juicier more fruit-driven style than Via Nuova. The 2008 impresses for its inner perfume and overall sense of harmony.

I was equally impressed with all of the wines I tasted in barrel during my most recent visit. Importer: Indigenous Selection, Fort Lauderdale FL; tel. (954) 963 6251
