(raised in demi-muids , most of them used): Opaque ruby. Smoky, high-pitched scents of fresh blackberry, violet and allspice, with a zesty mineral nuance building in the glass. Juicy and sharply focused, offering vibrant black and blue fruit flavors and a deeper licorice pastille nuance. A peppery quality adds bite to the long, focused finish, which is shaped by smooth, harmonious tannins.

It’s a fantastic Syrah that offers a classic, elegant and medium to full-bodied profile to go with notions of peppery herbs, olive tapenade and assorted currant-like fruit. Possessing beautiful purity, fine tannin and a no shortage of texture, drink this knockout effort over the coming 8-10 years.
Meaty, savoury dark fruit. Ripe and spicy but fresh too. Extremely fluid on the palate, on the lighter side but gently persistent and the tannins very discreet. (JH)
