Tasting notes
Aged for 23 months in neutral French oak, the 2009 Lagier Meredith Syrah is a fresh, floral and exotic Syrah that exhibits copious amounts of black and blue fruits, violets, ground pepper, incense, and underbrush aromatics that give way to a medium to full-bodied, richly textured syrah that has beautifully integrated acidity, as well as solid underlying structure and depth. It fleshes out in the glass, has a seamless, pure profile, and should age effortlessly for 10 to 12 years.

The 2009 Syrah caresses the palate with layers of dark red fruit, sweet herbs, licorice and flowers. It shows gorgeous silkiness and plenty of polish through to the compelling finish. This is an especially round, powerful vintage for the Syrah. Some of wilder varietal notes that are at times present are in the background in the 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. These are two engaging wines from Carol Meredith. The wines are loaded with personality and Mt. Veeder character. Tel. (707) 253-0653
