Rather haunting nose – not powerful but lots there already. A bit too dry and austere on the palate however. Needs lots and lots of time and it may always be a little evanescent. (JR)

Like many of its peers, the 2002 is in a dormant, muted state, but attractive notes of cassis, cherries, pain grille are discernable in this medium-bodied, elegant, traditionally-styled Bordeaux. It will handsomely repay 2-3 years of cellaring, and keep through the following decade.
