Tasting notes
(a blend of carinena, syrah and garnacha) Ruby-red. Slightly reduced, cool aromas of black cherry, cassis and licorice, with a gamey nuance. Sweet and concentrated if a bit youthfully stunted, with intense, cooler flavors of black fruits, licorice, minerals and mint. Has a distinctly granitic character and very firm backbone. Finishes sweet and long, with a licorice note. .

A fabulous value from the other side of the famed Priorat appellation (the frugal person’s Priorat?), this dense ruby/purple-colored 2004 exhibits wonderful minerality along with beautiful raspberry and blueberry fruit notes interwoven with liquid slate/rock-like characteristics. Medium-bodied with gorgeously pure fruit, this blend of Carignan, Syrah, and Grenache is ideal for drinking now and over the next 5-6 years. There is even more good news as 6,500 cases are exported to the USA. Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates From Spain, Dedham, MA; tel. (781) 461-5767
