Tasting notes
The 2000 Flor de Pingus exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, a roasted meat/creosote-scented nose, and big, meaty, herb-tinged flavors that are both substantial and opulent. Fleshy and chewy, it is a hedonistic as well as intellectual turn-on to enjoy over the next 7-8 years. Importer: The Rare Wine Co., Sonoma, CA; tel. (707) 996-4484

Good medium ruby. Explosive aromas of black cherry, roasted tomato, olive, game and nutty oak. Sweet, lush and gamey; a bit less densely packed than the young 2001 but still stuffed with fruit. Shows a syrah-like animal aspect.
