Tasting notes
Medium red. Sweet red fruits, minerals and licorice on the fresh nose; shows little sign of the heat of the year. Densely packed and concentrated but juicy and tightly wound. Finishes with dusty, broad tannins, excellent length and just a hint of roasted ripeness.

Deep red. Complex, slightly sauvage aromas of black cherry, strawberry, violet, brown spices and roasted meat. Sweet, fine-grained and nicely perfumed in the mouth; this has taken up more oak than the Champans. Richer, larger-scaled and more tannic on the back end.
About the producer

Volnay’s Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or. Founded in 1730, the property remains family-owned and run, with Etienne de Montille – the ninth generation – at the helm today.
